Hello dear dedicated
Nancy. Hope you are well and relaxed in your new
surroundings!! It's always wonderful to get your newsletter.

Do you make homemade
lotion and use the product UNIBASE?
If so, where can you find this product. I used to make
lotion all the time and then was unable to find UNIBASE. Can
you help?
Thanks , Lou Anne

remember (or lived on!) that food chopper sandwich spread !
That was a really FUN trip down memory lane! Bless y'all,
every time I try one of these recipes or make this stuff
I'll have the new memories of how much fun we had going over
it again..
Bless every one of you ! And Nancy, who lets us fly !

Help!! A while back
there was a cake mix cookie
recipe using lemon cake mix with lemon jello or lemon
Kool-Aid that was formed into a roll, refrigerated and
sliced to bake. Well, guess what, I have searched all the
recipes I have printed off and cannot find it. If anyone
remembers it and would send it I would really appreciate it.
Your site is so helpful and I just have to tell our family
about Siggy and Ditto's cute antics. I even show them their
pictures. We are a family of cat lovers I guess you can
tell?
Thank you all for the great recipes and tips. Ellen in Wa
Nancy, furry friends,

Years ago I had a
neighbor who was a wonderful baker who made a fantastic
rhubarb custard or pudding like
pie. My kids loved it and she would make it for them but
would not give out the recipe. Any one out there have a
recipe that sounds like this " to die for pie" ? Thanks for
any help.

Oh my goodness--did
anyone see Paula Dean do that layered lettuce salad over
Memorial Day weekend on the food network? It had so many of
the traditional ingredients but in the middle were bananas
and raisins! Don't know if I'd want bananas and raisins in a
salad that has bacon and cheese in it. LOL
Nina in TN
Nancy, I'm so glad you,
Siggy, and Ditto are happy in your new home. It sounds like
you've found the perfect place for all of you! The
bologna recipe brought back great
memories of my mom. She was thrilled when she got a
Kitchen Aid mixer and loved to play with the accessories,
one of which was a grinder. She used leftover ham and ground
it with sweet gherkins, hard boiled eggs, and mayonnaise to
make a scrumptious spread to use on sandwiches or Town House
crackers. I'm a vegetarian now, but believe me, if I could
have one of her good meals again, I'd fall off the wagon for
a day! Thanks for the memories and thanks for letting me
share this with you all.

My family tried the new

Dear Nancy
This message is for Susie Indy who mentioned in the 5-30
newsletter that her husband liked the car races turned up
loud on the
TV.
I had exactly the same problem as well as football,
wrestling etc. My prayers for quiet were answered over a
year ago when I went to Best Buy and purchased a set of
wireless headphones. It connects to the TV or vcr depending
on your setup, has a recharging stand that the headphones
sit on when not in use.
The TV sound can be turned down to zero and he can walk to
the end of the driveway (up to 300 feet with the brand we
have) and still hear the action. The headphones are very
comfortable and are in stereo.

To "Lost in the family.
Ideas for family reunion. " I
don't know what part of the world you are from but this is a
neat idea our family used. I started to say country but
realized that people all over the world visit Nancy's
Kitchen. I am originally from South Texas and the planner of
our family reunion several years ago gave each family a "cow
patty". We were told to use our imagination to create
something from this cow patty.
The top 3 winners were: #1 A desk set (The cow patty had
been fastened to a block of wood, two holes drilled for pen
and pencil, a slot cut out for a note pad and the cow patty
block had been varnished and shellacked); #2 A doll (the cow
patty was the head, the eyes were glued on, the shape of the
cow patty furnished the nose, the mouth was lipsticked on
around the curve of the cow patty, a beautiful bonnet
adorned the head and the body was attached with a steel rod
through the cow patty and stuffed body, and a lovely gown
and booties finished the ensemble.); #3 was a story told by
my dad to my sister who wrote it out for him. (It was a
story of how he traveled from East Texas to New Mexico and
his job was to walk behind the wagon and toss cow patties
into a sling under the wagon for fuel that evening. Of
course the story was a bit longer and more involved that I
have space for here. Anyway thought I would toss the idea
out there. There were some hilarious things made with those
cow patties and we had loads of laughs that year.
