Christmas Sour Cream Sugar Cookies

1 tsp. soda
1 c. sour cream

Set aside.
1 c. shortening or butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs

1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. lemon flavoring
2 tsp. baking powder

Alternately add sour cream and 5 cups flour to make a soft dough. Roll out on a well-floured board and cut in desired shapes. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Decorate as desired.
