2005 Recipes - Newsletter Archive

To Print out only the recipe highlight it with your mouse, right click on the highlighted recipe. Choose the option PRINT. Change the Print Range from ALL to SELECTION. Press the PRINT button on the screen.

In the June 1 newsletter Mariann in Michigan (cool name by the way) asked for a hot buttered rum recipe you could store in the fridge. I have two but they are stored in the freezer and you just spoon out what you need and they keep forever.

Hot Buttered Rum Mix #1
1 lb. butter, softened
1 lb. powdered sugar
1 lb. brown sugar
1 qt. vanilla ice cream, softened
1 to 2 tsp. cinnamon
1 to 2 tsp. nutmeg

Mix all ingredients together. Store in freezer. Put two to three teaspoons
in mug with rum or brandy and boiling water. Enjoy!

Hot Buttered Rum Mix #2
1 lb. butter, softened
1 lb. light brown sugar
1 qt. real vanilla ice cream, softened

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add ice cream and blend until creamy. Refreeze or serve immediately. Will keep well for a while in
the refrigerator.
